Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 October 2026
1. Who we are
iDavos (“we”, “us”) is an independent accommodation and concierge service for the Davos Annual Meeting. We are not affiliated with the World Economic Forum. For any privacy-related questions, contact us at info@idavos.com.
2. Data we collect
- Contact form: your name, email address or phone number, and the content of your message, used solely to respond to your enquiry.
- Newsletter: your email address, used to send occasional updates and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Booking enquiries: details you share with us over email, WhatsApp, or Telegram to arrange accommodation or concierge services.
- Client and partner records: when you enquire or offer a property or a service, we keep your name, contact details, company and notes on the enquiry in our own database.
- Booking agreements and invoices: when we agree a booking with you, the agreement and the invoices we prepare, with your name, company, contact and billing details, the stay and the amounts, kept in our own database.
- Booking requests: your name, email address, phone number, stay dates, guest count, and message, submitted through a listing’s request form and stored so we can handle the request. To limit abuse of the form we also keep, for up to two days, a scrambled fingerprint derived from your IP address — not the address itself, which we do not store.
- Site feedback: what you write in the Feedback form, the name you give (optional), the page you were on, the site that linked you to us, and basic device details (screen size, touch screen or not, browser and operating system, language and time zone) so we can see what you saw. If you are signed in to our admin, we note your account. To limit abuse of the form we also keep, for up to two days, a scrambled fingerprint derived from your IP address — not the address itself, which we do not store.
- Usage data: with your permission, analytics about page visits and site performance, using cookies and cookieless measurement (see Section 4).
3. How we use your data
We use your data to respond to enquiries, arrange accommodation and concierge services you request, send newsletters you have subscribed to, and improve our website. We do not sell your personal data.
4. Cookies and analytics
We use essential browser storage to remember your privacy choices, your display preferences and the properties you pin in a private package, and to support secure sign-in. Pinned properties stay on your device: we do not receive them, and clearing your browser data or choosing Remove pins on the package page deletes them. With your permission, we use cookies and cookieless analytics to understand website visits and measure performance. Optional analytics only load after you accept them. You can change your choice at any time using Privacy Preferences in the footer. Turning analytics off reloads the page to stop tools that have already loaded.
5. Third-party service providers
We share data with service providers only as needed to operate the site:
- Vercel — website hosting, image storage, and cookieless analytics.
- EmailJS — delivery of contact form and newsletter submissions to our inbox.
- Stripe — payment processing. When you pay a deposit or balance online, Stripe receives your name, email address, and payment details; we do not see or store your card or bank account numbers.
- Wise — our business account for bank transfers. When you pay an invoice by bank transfer, Wise receives the payment with the name and account details your bank sends with it.
- Turso — database hosting, including stored booking requests, client and partner records, booking agreements and invoices, site feedback and payment records.
- Google Workspace — our email and documents. If we prepare your booking agreement or invoice as a Google Doc, its text, including your name and the booking details, is stored in our Google Drive.
- Notion — our team's workspace, which holds a copy of our client and partner records (names, contact details and enquiries) and of our property listings. It never receives booking or payment records.
- Mapbox — our maps, their place search and the directions drawn on them. Your IP address is processed when map tiles load, and a place you search for on a map, with the route to it, is sent to Mapbox to answer the search. We do not receive or keep your searches.
- Google Maps — only if you open directions there from one of our maps: Google receives the start and end points of that route, and its own privacy policy applies.
- WhatsApp / Telegram — if you choose to contact us there, their own privacy policies apply. Where we set up a WhatsApp group for your enquiry, messages in that group reach our systems in the same way as messages sent to us directly. We also use Telegram as an internal notification channel: when a booking request arrives, it receives the property and the dates of the request, but not your contact details; when site feedback arrives, it receives only a reference number, never what you wrote.
6. Data retention
We keep enquiry and booking correspondence for as long as needed to provide our services and meet legal obligations, then delete it. Booking requests are kept for as long as needed to handle them, and payment records, booking agreements and invoices for as long as accounting law requires. You can ask us to delete a booking request at any time. Client and partner records are kept while the enquiry or relationship is active; on request we delete your contact record and the enquiry records that name you. Site feedback is kept while it helps us improve the site, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.
7. Your rights
Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise any of these rights, email info@idavos.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Data security
All traffic to our website is encrypted via HTTPS, and access to enquiry data is limited to the iDavos team. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the date of the last revision shown above.
